The Mobile Group Home is located in Mobile, Alabama in Mobile County in the Southern most part of Alabama. The group home serves up to 13 adjudicated males primarily from the Southeastern area of Alabama. The program provides residents an opportunity to utilize and demonstrate positive behavior and skills in a less structured, community based environment prior to returning home. Placement is provided for adjudicated males between the ages of 14 to 18 who have been court-committed to the Department of Youth Services. Low-risk residents may be received directly from Juvenile Courts for Regular Program placement. Residents qualifying for the Pre-Release Program are transferred to the group home directly from other DYS facilities. Regular Program placement is approximately four to six months and Pre-Release Program placement lasts from six to twelve weeks. Release or discharge is contingent upon the resident’s substantial completion of an Individual Service Plan.
