The Department of Youth Services is part of the State of Alabama Merit System. As such, we abide by their rules and operating procedures. All appointments to positions in DYS are handled through the State Personnel Department. In order to apply for a job at Youth Services, you must fill out the standard State of Alabama Job Application which is available on their website (www.personnel.state.al.us) or in State Employment Offices. We also have the additional requirement for those applying for Youth Services Aide they must take a tour of one of our facilities (either in Birmingham or Montgomery) prior to their application being accepted by the State Personnel Department.
