The Thomasville Campus is located in Clark County in southwestern Alabama.  The R.E.A.C.H. Program (Respect, Education, Attitude, Confidence, and Honesty) is designed to provide juvenile courts with a dispositional alternative for minimum-risk males.  The typical length of stay is 60-90 days.

The foundation of the R.E.A.C.H. Program utilizes success oriented activities to facilitate the growth of self-confidence and self-esteem by developing respect and responsibility for self and others. A graduated system of activities emphasizing group and individual challenges include ice breakers, decision-making group initiatives, low elements, and high ropes elements. Group counseling sessions are conducted daily and are directed toward increasing a student’s awareness of how inappropriate behavior affects him and others.  Adventure Based Counseling, Aggression Replacement Training (ART), and Changing Directions underpin the service delivery of the program. 

The educational component of the program emphasizes individualized academic remediation in basic skills and provides an opportunity for successful completion of all GED requirements.  Physical Training (PT) focuses on increasing self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-discipline through participation of a health program that includes proper health care habits, diet, and a highly structured exercise component.

Campus service projects provide each student an opportunity to give something back to the program and to the DYS campus.  Upon substantial completion of all program components and Individualized Service Plan (ISP) requirements, the student is released from the Department of Youth Service.
