For more than 33 years PASS has served the community of Autauga County. PASS is made up of three major components: Teen Court, Independent Decisions, and Adult & Youth Coalitions. Teen Court is one of the major components of PASS purposed to give juveniles an alternative to juvenile detention centers. We offer juvenile diversion programs, re-entry, and aftercare. This is a cost effective ways for juveniles to be held accountable while gaining life skills, anger management skills, and continued family support. We encourage & assist them in making responsible decisions regarding their lives. The goal of the program is to make productive citizens. When student are less likely to re-offend, this saves money is the cost of re-arrest, adjudication, and even state adult incarceration.

AMIkids has been helping youth separate a troubled past from a bright future since 1969, with programming for at-risk youth and families spanning 45 communities in 10 states. AMIkids provides Functional Family Therapy services in five Alabama counties: Butler, Pike, Crenshaw, Lowndes, and Covington. The goals of the program are to strengthen protective factors, reduce risk factors, and improve communication among family members, and ultimately to reduce recidivism rates for court involved youth. Each referred family participates in weekly sessions held in their home for about three to six months
FFT is a highly regarded evidence based model that has received international recognition for its outcomes in helping troubled youth and their families to overcome delinquency, substance abuse, and violence. It is a short-term treatment strategy that is built on a foundation of respect of individuals, families and cultures, but that includes powerful treatment strategies that pave the way for motivating individuals and families to become more adaptive and successful in their own lives. In doing so, FFT helps to save families while at the same time preventing crime and victimization in communities.

The UAB Beacon Recovery Family & Adolescent Services program, formerly known as the Adolescent Substance Abuse Program (ASAP), was founded in 1991 in response to an increase in drug-related juvenile crime. The program’s goal is to reduce adolescent substance use through the provision of substance abuse screening, drug testing, and appropriate substance abuse referrals for juveniles placed under the supervision of the juvenile court. Youth Villages provides Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST), which is a family-based treatment model implemented in the youth’s home and community that has been validated as an effective treatment model for reducing antisocial behavior among juveniles, including the reduction of substance use. The FIT program provides intensive, in-home intervention and family therapy to court-involved families who are experiencing severe family turmoil or conflict. The Walker County Advocate Project provides in-home, school, and community-based individual and group services for eligible juveniles ages 12-17 that have been referred through juvenile court.
