School District 210

D.Y.S. Schools & Programs

General Information

The D.Y.S. School District 210 was created in 1983 to provide quality education for students in Department of Youth Services (D.Y.S.) facilities. The central offices for both the Alabama Department of Youth Services and School District 210 are next to the Mount Meigs (pronounced “Megs”) campus. Today, the School District operates three schools throughout the year. These schools are the Lurleen B. Wallace School on the Mount Meigs Campus, the Adele G. McNeel (pronounced “Mek-NEEL”) School on the Vacca (pronounced “VACK-uh”) Campus, and the Autauga (pronounced “Aw-TAW-guh”) Valley School on the Autauga Campus. The D.Y.S. School District is recognized by the Alabama State Board of Education and is accredited by AdvancED Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
