Autauga Valley School

Autauga Campus

Autauga Valley School is located in Prattville, Alabama, on the Autauga Campus. It is an annex of the L.B. Wallace School in Mt. Meigs, Alabama. The school provides education for up to 48 male students committed to the Alabama Department of Youth Services, or “D.Y.S.”.

The curriculum follows guidance from the Alabama State Department of Education. It focuses on building basic skills in reading, language, math, and science. Instruction is tailored to each student’s needs. Each student receives an individual plan based on school records, informal assessments, and results from the Test for Adult Basic Education, also called the “T.A.B.E.”

Each plan supports one of the following goals:
Improving skills to return to school on grade level

  • Gaining mastery of basic academic skills
  • Preparing for the General Education Development test, known as the “G.E.D.”
