Data information about Youth Outcomes in D.Y.S. Diversion Programs
Initial Outcomes Show Early Promise
In January 2018, our Diversion Grant partners began studying the outcomes of youth who had taken part in their programs. D.Y.S. asked partners to collect information about each youth six months after the program ended. In June 2018, they started contacting former students to learn where they were living, what education or job opportunities they were pursuing, whether they had re‑offended, and whether they were still under court supervision. This information could come from the court, a parent, or another reliable source. Our main goal was to gather accurate information in the best way possible. The results shown below represent the statewide average from this point‑in‑time study on D.Y.S. diversion program outcomes between June 2018 and December 2019.
